You can delete your ReCollect account, and everything in it, at any time. ReCollect is made by FOP Varava Pavlo Oleksandrovych, Kyiv, Ukraine. Deletion is permanent: we can’t restore an account once it’s gone.
01Delete it in the app
The quickest way, and it takes effect straight away:
- Open ReCollect and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Under Your data, tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete forever.
Your account and its data are erased while you wait, and the app tells you when it’s done.
02Ask us by email
If you no longer have the app, or can’t sign in, write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my ReCollect account”.
- Send it from the email address of your account, so we know the request is yours. If you can’t, tell us which address it is, and we’ll confirm with a message to that address before deleting anything.
- We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply when it’s done.
03What is deleted
Everything tied to your account:
- Your library: quotes, books, cover photos, tags and reflections, and the AI readings and reflection questions written for them.
- Your daily-quote history and the signals about how you use quotes (viewed, liked, shared, skipped).
- Your preferences: languages, time zone, notification settings and reflection-question settings.
- Your account details and sign-in: email address, display name, password hash, and the link to Apple or Google sign-in.
- Your push-notification registrations, so no more notifications reach your devices.
04What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups that protect the service against failures still hold a copy for up to 14 days, then expire.
- Diagnostic logs (errors, performance, shortened IP addresses) are deleted after 31 days. They hold your account’s internal ID, never the text of your quotes or reflections.
- Crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics expire after 90 days. They hold your account’s internal ID, device model and app version, nothing else about you.
- Purchase records. If you ever subscribed, Google Play or Apple and our subscription service RevenueCat keep the purchase record under their own policies, as billing and tax law require. It is tied to your account’s internal ID, not to your library.
05Your subscription
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Premium subscription, because Google or Apple bills it, not us. Cancel it first in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or on iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
06Deleting only some data
You don’t have to delete your account to remove things. In the app you can delete any quote, book or reflection on its own, stop reflection questions from building on your earlier reflections, and turn notifications off. For anything else, write to us at the address above.
